50 Rooms are being held in the Goldcrest Residence (https://www.campusaccommodation.ie/students/new-residence/) until 5th July 2023. The rates are €79.00 per single occupancy room per night; €127.00 per double occupancy room per night. These are for the nights of 16th and 17th August. The plan is that the conference will start at 2pm on the 16th so that delegates would arrive that morning. With respect to Sligo, we will post a list of Hotels and B&Bs closer to the time of the conference.
From Felix o’Murchadha, Oct 28: “This week I spoke with Stefan Bergh who is an archaeologist at the University of Galway with special expertise on passage tombs in Sligo. He is very enthusiastic about being involved – he will give a talk and guide us through the sites. He explained to me that he and others are working on a bid to have passage tombs in Sligo declared a UNESCO heritage site (see attached). He explained that this site manifests the questions we will be dealing with in a unique way.”
